Driver killed after car rolls down embankment in Southwest Philadelphia
A driver was killed after a car rolled down an embankment in Southwest Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A driver was killed after a car rolled down an embankment in Southwest Philadelphia.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of South 54th Street near Lindbergh Blvd.

Police say the driver, 45-year-old Blaine Lewis, was speeding in the southbound lanes when he lost control.

His silver Nissan hit a guardrail and became airborne. It went down the embankment and landed on the train tracks below.

Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was in the car at the time.
